1.Who we are
The Black Wall Street Economy (“BWSE,” “we,” “us”) is an economic education, information, and opportunity platform operating as a DBA of Nexoria Enterprise. You can reach us any time through our contact page or the sales and support chat available on every page.
This policy applies to blackwallstreetecon.com, the BWSE Academy, the Opportunity Center, the business directory, our newsletters, and our support channels.
2.Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and password credentials when you create a member account.
- Learning profile — the goals, experience level, and learning preferences you provide during onboarding, plus course progress, quiz results, action plans, and certificates you earn.
- Purchase information — the items you buy and the receipt record. Card numbers are entered on Stripe’s hosted checkout and are never stored on or transmitted through our servers.
- Business listing information — business name, ownership category, contact details, and anything else you submit for the public directory.
- Support conversations — messages you send to the sales and support AI, including voice recordings you choose to send, which are transcribed to text. Transcripts are retained so a human can review and resolve your issue.
- Usage information — pages visited, opportunity applications you click through, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Email preferences — newsletter subscriptions and whether you opened or clicked an email we sent.
3.How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and deliver the courses, certificates, and tools you signed up for.
- To recommend courses, opportunities, and action steps that match the goals in your learning profile.
- To process payments, issue receipts, and evaluate refund requests under our refund policy.
- To answer support questions, resolve account problems, and escalate issues to a human team member.
- To send transactional email (receipts, course access, certificates, escalation updates) and, if you subscribe, newsletters you can unsubscribe from at any time.
- To measure how many people apply to an opportunity through our site, so we can report on real economic impact.
- To detect fraud, abuse, and security threats, and to comply with the law.
4.What we never do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade your email address. We do not share your learning profile, course activity, or support conversations with advertisers.
5.Service providers we rely on
We use a small set of vetted providers to run the platform. Each receives only the information needed to perform its function:
- Hosting, database, authentication, and file storage for the site and member accounts.
- Stripe for payment processing and refunds.
- Email delivery for receipts, notifications, and newsletters.
- AI providers that power the support chat, document coaching, article narration, and transcription. Content sent to these providers is used to generate your response and is not used by us for advertising.
- Public data sources such as Census, BLS, Grants.gov, and SAM.gov — these are read-only; we send them no personal information about you.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms of Use, or to protect the rights and safety of our members and community.
6.Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in, remember whether you have dismissed a prompt, and understand which pages and opportunities are most useful. You can clear or block cookies in your browser; signing in and course progress require them.
7.How long we keep information
- Account, course progress, and certificate records: for as long as your account is open, so your credentials remain verifiable.
- Purchase and refund records: as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.
- Support transcripts: retained for quality, dispute resolution, and escalation review.
- Newsletter records: until you unsubscribe.
8.Your rights and choices
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything inaccurate in your profile or business listing.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to records we must keep by law.
- Unsubscribe from newsletters using the link in any email, without losing account access.
- Opt out of the support chat by using the contact form instead.
To exercise any of these rights, submit a privacy rights request, or contact us through the contact page or the support chat. We verify your identity before acting on a request, acknowledge it within 5 business days, and complete it within 30 days.
9.Children
BWSE is intended for adults and for young people using the platform with a parent, guardian, or educator. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
10.Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and access to member records is restricted at the database level. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
11.Changes to this policy
When we make a material change, we update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify members by email. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated policy.
